I'm transiting via Vienna, and I have to kill 4 hours at the aiport. Travelling alone can be bit of a pain! I just got all the immigration done and just sat down to have some lunch..and i'm bored already!

I'll watch a movie or something...

Oh btw..they didnt let me take all my bags...i had to leave one behind with my friend who'd come to drop me off at the airport. Understandably though..including that bag I had 40 kgs :p...and i'm allowed 20! Oh well..

I also feel bored.

Was pleasantly surprised - wow, what a good movie! Good acting, good background music, solid pacing and most of all brilliant, utterly brilliant cinematography, and very well thought off storyline, even though its a remake of Cavite!

Why do the most important baking instructions come at the end ?

Obviously I didnt read the last part and I got two cakes. Half in the plate, half still stuck in the pan - GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

We went to Coldplay concert tonight in San Jose. Needless to say, it was amazing, as expected. I absolutely love their "Viva la Vida" album, and seeing it live, coupled with Coldplay's older hits was just an icing on the cake.

My only grouse was the show started at 7.30 and endured two long opening acts, and by the time Coldplay made an entrance it was almost 9.15pm. They played till 10.45pm, which felt awfully short given the breath of Coldplay's hits. By the time it ended, I felt it had only just begun!

Something funny - this place is so full of desis, but shockingly it felt like there were no desis at all in the concert. Out of 10-20000 people, I am willing to bet there were not more than 100 desis around! What were they doing? Watching Mahabharat perhaps :P

All in all, an awesome concert though. Coldplay rocks!

I saw this one about 2 yrs ago. Its called "The Future of Food".. an interesting documentary on the lines of The Inconvinient Truth (good one too)! It talks about GM crops, MNC trying to monopolise food chain etc etc.. but in a very interesting and hard hitting way. Am not sure whether its rented out by usual DVDwalas or available over P2P file shares, but try and watch it when you have some time or when you are in the mood for some real hard facts! Nice one.

So this last weekend, we were in DC visiting our friends again. One of our friends had a bday, and the theme of his party was "GOVINDA" - meaning, everyone should dress up like one.

Likewise, all of us were dressed in atrocious clothes - there was abundance of fluroscent yellows and oranges and bright blues and bright greens - any combination was worn - yellow and blue, orange and pink with purple bandana....

It was total jhakaaaaaas!! Govinda would have been proud of us!

Shimla sounds like a good option to me, the only hitch is that the only person who's ready to accompany me happens to be a guy, whom I've never met! :P :P :P (yeah, I've proclaimed my "crush" on him on this very website! :P )

Now, though the vacation part sounds very interesting to me, and quite tempting, I am not sure if my Dad will be too happy to know the details! :P In fact, he would be less scandalized if I tell him I want to marry him instead of telling him I am going on a 5 day trip to Shimla with a guy I've never met! :P :P :P

Imran Khan is the cutest thing ever...and the girl..whatever her name is, is quite good...except for the Kannada/telugu something accent that she has while speaking hindi. Movie's very cute too!!

All my social visits of late end up in some or the other kind of disasters. Don't even get me started about the last weekend! I sometimes feel that the-one-who-sits-up-there is targetting me.. unfairly and unnecessarily.. boo hoo hoo.

...Rocks! Its been a while we came out of a theatre feeling so happy and chirpy, especially a Bollywood movie! The story is nothing new and as old as hills, but the presentation and the characters are so lovable!

Plus, the background score is awesome, so is the acting by almost everybody. The story is breezy and really doesnt get too heavy.

However, the comedy is absolutely bang on and makes the movie lovable!!

All in all, best bollywood movie of the year so far!

...I just sort of understood it!!

Even if you don't like the songs on the first hearing...they DO have a way of growing on to you...so you just HAVE to go back and listen to them! I had totally written off Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na...but upon hearing it a second time...i'm actually getting attuned to them!!!

Still...Rahman has lost a bit of his touch...I miss Roja, Bombay, Saathiya, even RDB, Dil Se..etc...

Is like a million happy souls in the world!!

- Its too expensive by flights to go anywhere out of state, so not doing that.

- Made some road trip plans, but looks like every green tree in California is on fire!! Resulting half the state "scenic" byways are on fire and not doable!

We are probably going to get bored and watch Bush forgive a turkey. Oh wait, that's thanksgiving :P

What is it with mushrooming of Abacus training centres for kids? I mean you can spot atleast a couple every other turn. Even my neighbour runs one (which btw goes by an imaginative name 'BRAIN-O-BRAIN!) I understand abacus develops your efficiency in Maths, improves concentration blah blah.. But isn't there some qualification or certain credentials necessary for who run these centres? or how is it run?

Hmm.. come to think of it, so are the baby nurseries, computer/ internet training(??) centres.. even schools for that matter! Why am I then complaining.
