Eye P Elle

Rameez Raja: The floodlights must be on because it is dark.
Laxman SivaRamaKrishnan: That is a very good observation Rameez. We will talk about it after this delivvverrry.

Arun Lal: He is coming in to bowl the most important delivery of this match. Look at that gorgeous bird. That is a peregrine falcon. Look at the way it...

bird eating-raptor, the female species of which..

Hold on. Who switched off the floodlights.
Ravi Shastri: The match is long over Arun!

American Politics

I am amused. I find every second desi blogger to b an expert on American Politics! Its fine if you say you've have spent a good part of last decade here and know the dynamics a bit- but some of the posts I come across are written in a way that would put most prolific American political writers to shame! What idiots!

WOW - what a dramatic finale! Damn! I didn't see that one coming. I know I said this last time too ;). February 2009 can't come soon enough!!!

LOST is the best show on television. Period!

Meetings

Sitting in a room right now with almost 15-20 people. Its like sitting in a coach of a Indian train stuck in the middle of nowhere - and because the train is stuck late, now it must wait on every other train to pass before it starts again. This is exactly how I feel right now :P

10.5.3

Apple issued an update (sort of service pack) for OS X today, and it stands an average between 200-400Mb.

As usual, apple fan sites and forums are so full of "Oh look, an update", "My computer's zippy!!", "Awesome update", "Look I found this!" crap.

Get over it people! Its a freaking update, more than 80% of just bug fixes and nothing else. Jeez, these apple fanboys have nothing to do!

Imagine poor Windows issuing a 400Mb update and how everyone's grandmother would have called it a curse from hell for no rhyme or reason.

BCCI

In an interview Lalit Modi says:

So there's you know a lot of people making a lot of money off the IPL, but you're not one of them?

No I'm not one of them, unfortunately not.

Why not?

Well, I do this in an honorary position and BCCI is a charity and a trust. It's a non-profit making organization and we do this for development of the game and I'm passionate about the game. And we do this so that the people in India can enjoy the facilities and we can build a great cricketing culture and we can have great facilities for our players.

--- BCCI is a CHARITY and Non-PROFIT? That's the biggest load BS I have heard in a long long long time!

Har ek jism ghayal,

yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye toh kya hai...

Ranting

I just feel like ranting about ranting. I dont really know what to write about since there's absolutely nothing interesting happening..and no interesting thoughts going on in my head. My usual daily routine commences...and my day goes something like this:

1. Wake up and laze
2. Get breakfast...and laze again
3. Go online...and loiter
4. Open a book...try to study...and give up soon
5. Try again...study some..then watch We The People
5. Keep ODing on We the People
6. Have a panic attack
7. Call Andrea...and weep
8. Eat..something
9. bla bla bla...
10. Go to bed at 2.

Normal Sa Day..

Gone Baby Gone

I must say a very impressive directorial debut by Ben Afleck. The story seems lose its way in the second half, but the way it comes together in the end makes you think.

The last few scenes are superb, and provide a very interesting perspective on what is right and wrong.

And a great last dialogue.

Indiana Jones

Notes to myself: Avoid any Spielberg + Lucas combination. Its dangerous!

Very average movie. Heck for most part it was unclear what was happening. And the ending: One of the most un-inspired insipid ever. Agreed nobody looks for logic or brains in Jones movie.. but still one does expect the story to hold!

Grey's Anatomy Finale

So by now everyone has slept with everyone around. Seattle Grace Hospital has become one-for-all all-for-one polygamous sect.

But Shonda Rhimes (show's producer) is still not convinced.

Now that all males and female doctors have slept with one another, it was only about time we had....

...female-female sleeping and err thankfully not yet male-male sleeping.

I think by the time Grey's Anatomy ends, I think even Animals won't be spared.

News or Horror shows?

These days I cringe watching any damn news hour. Its either who killed Aarushi n her cook or how many pieces did the kannada actress n her beau shred that other chap in the triangle or the toll from hooch tragedy mounting or China Earthquake still claiming its victims...

I mean aren't there any *pleasant* news any more? Why can't we have some light stuff for a change? Ofcourse by that I dont mean the Bachchans in Cannes, or SRK's verbal diahrrea, the length of Cheerleaders minis, or Rakhi Sawant n her loyal puppy Abhishek..

Ganguly

Only Ganguly can lead a team where his team has to beat team B and C and wait on B to beat C, while B and C both lose to D, and D beats E, while E loses to B and beats C.... to go into semi-finals.

How many times in his career has he seen such complex algorithms to make it to semis?

Rahman Double Treat!

Not many times in decades does it happen that two A. R. Rahman albums release on the same day. Heck, it has never happened!

Ada and Jaane Tu mostly released within a day of each other. The only difference being that Ada's music was composed nearly 6 years ago.

And yet you listen to Ada / Jaane Tu - they both sound so fresh and different!

Can't say all songs are good in both albums, but Gulfisha from Ada and Kabhi Kabhi from Jaane Tu are absolute standouts!

There. Just as I had predicted weeks ago, Tibet and its cause have vanished from the map the very day the Olympic torch left North American continent.

I had pretty much expected it. Poor Tibet.

Its sad that even in the 22nd century with so much development all around, some countries still act as if they were in king and queen ages.

Narnia vs Potter

Narnia: About children, for children, of childrean. Very endearing and simple tale of good vs evil in a fairy land.

Potter: Grownups disguised as brain dead childrean. Idiotic mumbo-jumbo. Tries to be a complex character study, but falls flat on its face.

Narnia, all the way. Plus I love that cute kid (youngest amongst all).

Mimoh

Here's what our so called film expert Taran Adarsh has to say on Mimoh Chakraborthy:

"All eyes are on Mimoh and right so. The youngster needs to take care of his styling and makeup, but let's give him the due -- he has the potential. Only thing, he needs a better vehicle to drive into the audience's heart. His expressions are okay, his dialogue delivery can be brushed up, he needs to lose weight. "

Yes, he has potential I agree...
