Bill Gates
Finally retires from active duties at Microsoft today. Even though i am no longer a fan of windows, Bill Gates defined what is the computing era.
Heck I wouldnt even move to mac had I not been introduced to windows and computing in general, thanks ONLY to Bill Gates.
Bill Gates is an Icon and must be remembered as one of the most influential man in the lines of Edison or Einstein.
Not comparing Bill Gates to them, but his legacy is as important if not more than them.

Whoa!
I had the most exciting night in my last 3 years of Milan!!!! It was so freaky and random!!
Well, so I went for drinks for this friend's farewell, who I hadn't seen in a bit, and never socialised with his group. Apart from another friend...I didn't know anyone. But khair, it was fun!
When we were leaving the place, and looking for the car, we walked passed this bar, and was that there was fire next to the glass..and people on the other side of the sidewalk calling the Fire-bregade.
Then khair, the fire people came, in 3 fire engines...and they extinguished the fire and everything...so we walked on...still looking for the car. We'd just walked away from the place, when we hear a car crash and some screams. So we turn, and see all the fire fighters and the police running. We run too ( being naturally curious :P)....and see that a car had crashed into another one, pushing that car around 50 feet away, and crashing into other 2 cars. There was petrol everwhere and a big chaos....and the worst was that the driver of that car, was the owner of the bar ( which was burning), and he was driving fast when he heard about the Bar. So....that poor dude had a majorly jinxed day!! Car completely ruined...bar burned out....yikes...!
Anyway...so yeah...that was my exciting night...there was a lot more, but i'll leave that for some other time :p! just HAD to write it out here!!

Its dense and foggy past day - We can no longer see mountain ranges from our house as it seems to be covered with smoke around.
Still not as bad as I had seen a few years back in San Diego, where I could see the sun directly in daylight - it was that dense with smoke.

Seems like
I have some time on my hands these days after all! How else could I explain my new hobby.. Gardening! We don't have a real full fledged garden, but there is this small stretch running along the compound wall, and then a little square piece adjacent to the main gate. So meet Ms. Greenfingers. I planted few flower bushes, papayas, sowed some seeds of shady trees and experimenting with lemons and brinjals :-) Ah, it feels nice!

Social Etiquette
I am not sure if I shared this here, but the other day when I and missus were at a nice Malaysian restaurant, we saw a shocking sight - a desi couple eating rice with their hands!
Missus quipped people in India have so much more social etiquette about eating in restaurants. It was a disgusting sight to see them.
I remind missus that this is a daily occurrence I see my cafes. Hordes of desis eating rice and food with their hands - its actually gruesome to watch.
I eat with hands at home myself, but please, somebody ought to teach these idiots some sense.

After somewhat
a zillion years later, I watched 2 movies. And thrillers at that!!
First, Manorama 6 feet Under - A class! Story n mystery as such not big deal.. but the handling of the case, the simplicity and the absolute authenticity of the characters make this movie a must watch!! I loved it.
Then was Race. All glitzy, glammy and babes in the face. Its entertaining in parts, the twists n turns though are too many.. and the climax, well I did not see the point. It could have as well been wound up in first few reels.

Jannat - A journey through hell!
Can't figure out why the classes or the masses or the critics have loved this trip movie. It took us two days to finish the movie and felt like a rejected script of Gangster (Which btw, was really good!). Great music though.

Almost 1 am...
...and sleep evades me like an animal evades fire. It's rather annoying, i'm lying in bed for an hour, trying to make myself sleep, cuz i know I have to get up really early tomorrow to start studying again. If i dont keep a regular routine, a lot of things get messed up, and I waste half my morning. So Mr.Brain is pressuring me to sleep.
But there's this other part of me, that's lying awake, and unable to let my brain relax so sleep can approach me. I just lie here, with a racing brain and a tumoultous heart beating away. I want to sleep, I *need* to sleep, but I just can't!

Exam in 3 days...
...and I feel unnaturally calm. It feels like, I have accepted the stress as a part of who I am, so much so that I dont even realise when I'm stressed anymore. I'm taking it cool and easy, and not feeling pressure, which also means that I don't have the motivation to do much. It goes hand-in-hand I think!

Kiran Nagarkar's take on Mirabai remains one of my favorite books by an Indian author. This morning, a thought struck me. I think Sanjay Leela Bhansali should make this book into a movie with Aishwarya and Abhishek. I don't know why, but I feel Sanjay Leela Bhansali would do complete justice to this book!

Unfortunately the producers spent millions on ensuring the star kid looks like a clone of Hrithik Roshan.
Worse still, they roped in Anu Malik to the music for this futuristic movie.
Little do they know though that Anu Malik is still in 1950! Terrible music.
