So the most expensive franchisees, Mumbai and Bangalore have not won a single match yet. Bangalore has, but well, it was a one time fluke.

Thank you all for your suggestions. All active members except Nirwa and Guns voted. Nirwa is so busy her boss has rationed her breathing and Guns unfortunately had nothing useful to say. So going by the suggestions, I gather we are urgently in need of the following:

Boondh - Jal
It took me not more than 2 minutes to find the song used in kwality ice cream ad - which is "chalthe chalthe" by the pakistani band Jal from their new album Boondh.
Man, what an album. Easily the best album I have heard this year - out of 11 songs, 9 are easily awesome! There's such a unique quality about these songs - the guitars, the vocals, the arrangements, the tunes - all so so well done.
In addition to Chalthe chalte, other songs that are absolutely gorgeous are: Sajni, Sajni-acoustic version, Main Mast Hoon, Mahia, Payal, Chup Chup, Humain Itna Pyaar....
This album rocks!!

I love the way NSR is and it is serving the purpose that was intended for it. I like how it is our little corner away from the rest of the world.. How we can finally rant on and on without having to write boring old long posts on a blog.. How you could burp out random nonsense every once in a while (something that is extremely dear to me :P ) But do we need more?
One of the things I did strive hard for was to keep a clean minimalistic design, keep it simple, lightweight and fast! I am happy with the result.
Still its been quite a while since I made any real changes to the site. So if anyone would want to "request" any new "features", keeping the above principles in mind, please do so now.
I'd also like us to vote on whether we need a "Poll" feature here. I'm dying to create polls like "Are SRK and Saurav Ganguly secretly in love with each other" Ok, not really.. but it might be nice.
So vote now on whether we need a Poll feature and anything else your heart desires.

Deccan Somethings..
The IPL games - everyone was betting their last penny on the Hyderbad team. It seems they lost 2 straight matches. I was almost shocked seeing Dravid's T20 challenged team winning against Mumbai. Royal Rajasthan sent Punjus packing. Hmm, come to think of it.. the matches are not that predictable after all. Except for SRK's riders - knowing his award fixing abilities well, I suspect he is already fixing matches as well.. hehe

Bangalore woes
One of my cousins, a true blue Bangalorean, while ruing about the present status of the city, writes in his blog.. "But a lot of people in Bangalore, especially those working in IT, see this city as nothing more than a H1B/HSMP launchpad, from where they can go to the first world and never turn back to India. I wonder, do such people really care a damn about Bangalore at all?"

IPL
After initial interest which lasted from Friday / Sat / Sunday, I have begun to lose interest in IPL.
Primarily:
- Way too many matches to keep track off, and that too for 59 days. Too much effort!
- After a while, slogathons really begin to bore me. Where's the real game? Yes, T20 is fun for pure adrenalin entertainment, but lacks the finesse, drama and tension of a real one dayer...
- Identity crisis. Except for SRK's Knightriders, no team has caught my fancy. Heck, I don't even know half the people in half the teams.

Indian reality shows
Audience manipulation at its worst! Absolute worst! Pathetic.
So this b**** has a throat problem and can't sing. Everyone's mom and grandma must shed tears that she can't sing in the competition of her life. She is anyways forced to sing, after which Judges praise her to skies on her bravery and give her full marks.
More tears follow - all in slow motion - the contestant wiping her tears, her fellow mates shedding some. And her up in tears mom must also speak up on how this b**** who never had a throat problem now has one - more tears in slow motion!

Expensive Milan
I think my knowledge of the economy ,and the spike in prices, comes from looking at prices of clothes in shops. When at one time I could easily get a nice top for 5-6 euros, it costs around 10-12 euros now...that's double! How the heck is a girl to shop???
Hehe jokes aside, i'm getting kind of sick of how expensive this city is. Can't wait to move to a place where I can spend a lot less, and splurge a lot more :p!

Ramayana Rao, 31, MALE. Yes, thats me on the Voter's list released by the election commission for the coming assembly elections in K'taka. After 3 unsuccessful visits to the BBMP office in my area where all my pleas n application met a scornful 'you can only add a missing name, but cannot change existing details' replies.. I have come to terms with my new identity! I am waiting for further drama to enfold on the actual polling day..

Its raining..
...outside. Heavily, like it does in India. There's a tree outside my window which is radiating greenness into my room, and raindrops are splattering forcefully on the ledge of my balcony. My room's dimply lit, and there's a romantic pakistani song called "Raat yunhi dil mein" by Nayyara Noor playing in the background..
Everything is quiet and serene, and I have an urge to make chai and pakode.

Maldives
What is it about this place that keeps haunting me to no end? Its been almost 2 months now that I have returned back from there, and yet every other day I go back looking at the photographs and go wow all over again.
Sometimes I start looking for newer resorts and what they have to offer. At other times I start checking dates and flight options only to sit down and do a reality check.
This place calls out to me. I must visit it again.
It is paradise. Sigh!

Misinterpretation
I was at a pub with my friends, and sitting on the first floor, from where I could see the people sitting downstairs. I was looking around, when I noticed a guy staring exactly in my direction. He was pretty darn cute. So I abashedly looked right back. After a few minutes of looking in each other's directions, throwing smiles here and there, just when I was about to point the guy out to my friends, I happened to look right under the railing where I was sitting...and...there's a huuuuge plasma TV screen right there!!!! While the guy was happily watching music videos on screen...i was foolishly flirting with my eyes!!

Bandh!
Its that time in Karnataka again!! Suddenly all your Kannada blood boils at anything and everything Tamil.. be it transport, channel, movies, people... over what else but water issues! The proposed dates for the bandh are Apr 10 or 11 or 12 or 13 or 14! Phew, what choice!!
Somehow I have a strong suspicion that administration in Karnataka & TN have a secret pact that they will have atleast one such issue per year so as to have some recreation and mileage! Last year around this time, it was all about the Kaveri verdict.. which every one has conveniently forgotten/ overlooked! This time too its Kaveri alrite.. but for variety Hogenkal is thrown in!
